Need help deleting an iCloud email account from phone

I'm in need of some help with deleting my iCloud email account from my iPhone. It's an @me.com address that I've had for several years now and it has become a big spam collector, so I want to take it off my phone. I went into my phone settings (iPhone 4s) and I can't seem to find an option to delete this email address from my phone. I don't want to delete my entire iCloud account because I'm worried that would delete all of my apps and pictures. Does anyone have any idea how to delete just the email address from my phone without deleting my entire iCloud account?
