Apple has introduced a handy feature in the watchOS 11.2 beta that lets you pause video recordings on your iPhone directly from the Camera Remote app on your Apple Watch. This update makes controlling video recordings even more convenient for users who rely on their Apple Watch as a remote shutter.
Since its debut, the Camera Remote app has long allowed users to start and stop video recordings. Until now, there was no option to pause and resume a video mid-recording. With watchOS 11.2, a new pause button appears on the left side of the Camera Remote interface during video recording. Tapping it pauses the video, and tapping the red record button resumes the recording seamlessly.
This update builds on a feature Apple first added to the iPhone Camera app with iOS 18, bringing the same functionality to the Camera Remote app on the Apple Watch. watchOS 11.2 is expected to roll out alongside iOS 18.2 within the next week.
