9to5 Mac has some new pictures today that provide an excellent comparison between the dimensions of the iPhone 4 and the next iPhone. The pictures are courtesy of Italian site Macitynet.it, and they feature the current iPhone 4 placed inside one of the new silicon cases that are said to be for the iPhone 5. Simply by looking at these pictures, we can see that, assuming the silicon cases accurately depict the next iPhone, of course, the newer version is definitely wider, possibly even slightly longer, and most definitely a fair bit thinner as well. It also seems to have the tapered sloping back, similar to that of the iPad 2, as has also been rumoured for months. I think it would be a great idea for Apple to have all their most current iOS devices have a very similar look to them, prompting people to maybe want to have the whole set! The tapered back could look very smart!
