New iPhone-ling

Well I'm new here so I'm saying hi. I have an iPad 2 which i love and recently acquired an iPhone 3GS which is so far giving me grief, but I am hopeful! I am not very technically minded so more likely to ask for help than give it, but I have a decent brain on my shoulders so can follow instructions...

Hi Libel..... What sort of prob are you having with the 3GS?

I am only getting half the SMSs sent to me and I would swear the phone doesn't always ring when there's an incoming phone call - though other times it does work, some SMSs do come through and the Internet works fine! I got a new sim card and reset the phone, neither helped... Ideas?

Welcome to iPF.net, libelula!! Do you by chance know what Firmware your 3GS is currently running? Go to <Settings<General<About... and it'll be listed next to "Firmware." Just to get a base idea of what you're dealing with.
