Originally shared by GeekBar, via G for Games, the photo shows that the next iPhone may feature Qualcomm’s MDM9625 LTE modem. If so, MacRumors says that this would be an improvement on the Qualcomm MDM9615 chip that is in the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5.
The Qualcomm MDM9625 was announced back in 2012, and boasts support for speeds up to 150 MBPS, and superior LTE networking. MacRumors notes that it is more durable that the earlier chips, with lower temperatures even when pushed by high performance demands, due to the refined 28-nanometer production process.
The Qualcomm MDM9625 also supports next-gen LTE Advanced networks, which are still not supported in many parts of the world.
