New report showcases that 60% of all iOS devices run iOS 6

The launch of the iOS 6.1 version has brought along a new shiny report from the mother company, in which Apple mentions some noteworthy aspects regarding iOS 6 in 2012.

First off, according to the information, more than 300 million devices across the world currently sport the iOS 6. The numbers have grown with almost 100 million users in the last five months. More than that, since 2007 there have been about 500 million of iDevices sold around the world. That means that currently, about 60% of all Apple gadgets worldwide have installed on the latest version of the operating system.

Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller stated:

“iOS 6 is the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, and with nearly 300 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices on iOS 6 in just five months, it may be the most popular new version of an OS in history.”

With the new released version of iOS, Apple provides its users with a series of bug fixes meant to improve the performance of iPhones, iPads or iPods, but also brings some facilities in order to enable LTE connectivity. Also, from now on, Siri will be an option to be used on all compatible devices. Apple has also fixed the annoying problem that arose when the user stumbled upon a Smart App Banner in Safari, thus triggering an automatic function of the JavaScript function.
