new to the iphone - need tips

Hi, im new to the iphone and i have not a clue what i am doing. I want to us the iphone 4s to the best it can do for me but i really dont know where to start.
Can you assign music (not ring tones) as your 'ringtone'? if so how do you do it. I believe you can have diff tones for diff contacts but i would like music not 'sounds'
Can you get photos from facebook to use as your contacts photos ?
All little things like this i could do with help with
