New user looking for Droid voice abilities

I just got rid of my Droid and love my iPhone.
However, I cannot figure out how to do a voice text message on my iphone.
Also cannot find which navigation app that will work with voice like my Droid. Sure miss those features. THought they would be on this new phone. Any ideas out there?
