Hello everyone, I am searching for a cell phone for my wife for christmas. After reading Steve Jobs biography, which was EXCELLENT, I started fooling around with my daughters ipod touch. What a great device

Well, my wifes cell plan is up and I figured no better gift to get than an iphone.

Problem is I do not have a clue on which one to get. Believe it or not, after 40 years I do not even have cell phone.

Can someone help me choose a Iphone for her?

I know easiest answer is buy the latest greatest but that could be a waste as I know for sure my wife will not use the device to its full capability.

Criteria involved

  • I am looking for a New iphone, do not care what generation
  • Has to be able to hook to any wireless carrier as I will not sign a contract so unlockable
  • GB does not matter
  • Service will be in Canada
  • Do not care of the generation
  • Must have bluetooth and Wifi
  • Resonably priced for the options I will received
I truely am thankful for all that can give their opinion as I know nothing in regards to the Iphone.

Thanks Everyone

Chris

i think the iPhone 4 8gb or 4S16gb is your best bet.
you can buy the unlocked versions of them from apple although the unlocked versions are expensive

Get the factory unlocked iPhone 4 8gb or you could also chose the iPhone 3GS, it's a good device as well and I personally love the shape of it. Both of these 2 devices match very well your criteria except for the prices which I have no clue how much they can cost in your area.

I was thinking now that I researched it a little more after reading your helpful replies, I will look for a new Iphone 3GS. Any tips or things I should look out for? I was watching some videos and the damn clones look identical.

Also all the "new" 3GS phone for some reason are not under Apple warranty.

If you don't mind buying form the Apple Store or authorize retailers then you can be sure that you are not buying a clone one.
