No notifications when on Skype call

For some reason I don't get any notification sounds when I'm on a Skype call. Not for iMessages or Facebook messenger or anything. If I'm not on Skype, all notifications work fine. It works just fine on a regular phone call.

Any suggestions? I'm not sure where to look. It seems like it's a Skype issue but I have in app notifications on in Skype. I have to be missing something.

Everything is up to date as far as I can tell. No updates are available on the app store. It's kind of irritating.

Try installing a lower version of Skype.

You can't install an older version of an app from the App Store.
