The app has two main modes, Maps and Drive, and they are pretty self-explanatory. In the first, you can find and explore a specific location, and in the second you can find out how to get to a location.
Engadget says that the app performs well in terms of place searches, with detailed information on 190 countries. The areas that were poor on the previous app, namely public transport data and live traffic updates, have, apparently been “significantly improved.”
Overall, Engadget seems impressed with Nokia’s new Here Maps app, although noting that it will still have a hard job beating Google’s Maps app, and also competing with the fact that Apple’s own Maps app is deeply embedded in iOS as the default app.
