Noob that needs help.

as the picture implies, I would like to know what in the heck the E is...
It sometimes manifests itself if I plug in my iPhone 4to charge when there is little battery life left. Other than that, I have not noticed this little bugger on the status bar.

Welcome to the forum. It seems like your iPhone 4 is jailbreaked and is having a tweak installed on it. Actually that tweak is called free Sync if i'm not mistaken and it's responsible of allowing you to use your iPhone while it's been syncing to your computer's iTunes. If you are using iOS 5, you can uninstall that tweak from your iPhone since iOS 5 allow you to use your phone while you are syncing it with your computer's iTunes.

Thanks so much for helpin me on that! Yeah, it's jailbroken, and has a bunch of jailbroken apps on it that I have no clue what they do lol. Got this phone from my technologically savvy brother. Guess I'm gonna have to have a chat with him on what they all do.
