Not able to update to 6.1.2?

After jailbreaking my iPhone 5, when I go to check for the update in settings it continues spooling at "checking for update." It seems I'm not able to do the update. I'm new to jailbreaking, so I'm sure I'm missing something or doing something wrong. Can anyone enlighten me?

The evais0n Jailbreak disables the Over The Air update option.

It's a safety measure because OTA updates and jailbreaks don't exactly go hand-in-hand. It can possibly brick your device if you have certain tweaks or apps installed and not have them removed prior to upgrading.
