Notification setting on 4s

Good day to all of you, I'm new here and new to having a iPhone. So far it's been great coming from a Droid X user for the past few years. I have a question and I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. How do I and where do I go to chose the interval for my notifications ? For example if I miss a text or email or phone call I'm only alerted once, but I would like to be alert more than that. Can you help me out? Thanx for all your time and patience.

Settings, notifications, click the notification you want to change, select repeat number
