notification sounds

There is no sound notification when I receive a text message when screen is locked.

Go to Settings - Do Not Disturb, and make sure "Manual" is turned off.

Also take a look at your Mute button next to the Volume buttons. If you see the coloured (red) part, that's usually hidden, your iPhone is muted. Toggle the button to the other side.
