Jailbreak hacker p0sixninja, aka Joshua Hill has been teasing a project called OpenJailbreak for about a month now. The project intends to bring future iOS Jailbreak development to public hackers and developers. As we've seen with iOS 6, post-A5 devices have become troublesome to Jailbreak, hence the long wait for evasi0n.
Hill believes OpenJailbreak could be the start of achieving a working Jailbreak in a shorter amount of time. Instead of a small team working on the project, hackers from all over the world can help each other out to finalize an untethered Jailbreak for the public.
OpenJailbreak.org shows a simple upload/download page for various files, including "Libraries for manipulating Apple's DMG files", as well as others. Hill claims that this is just the start of something big, tweeting "just a small part of an ultimate plan". The website is still young and very mysterious, we'll keep you posted on what becomes of this unicorn.
