Overnight charging affect battery?

So I have the iPhone 5 and when it's new your skimpy about doing anything to it. Just wondering if I leave it charging overnight affect it? I heard its bad for the battery and your killing its life little by little and it won't hold as much charge as it should. Any feedback?

Yes, I would also like to know. If the battery is full, does the charging stop and the charger not giving circuit to the battery anymore? Cause when I put my phone on charge I go asleep and only disconnect it the next morning when I awake...

I have been leaving my iPhone 4S on the charger overnight for almost a year and I haven't seen any ill effects.

That is true. If you are charging with 100% over an extended period of time YOU will decrease the life of the battery over time (that applies to any rechargeable device) It's always best to fully charge and recharge when the phone is nearly dead. Also, sporadic charging can wear the battery life down as well.
