Phone hang up

This may sound crazy but my iPhone 6s seem to hang up my calls when I say "bye-bye". Anytime I talk to my daughter in Virginia I never have to hang up the phone. This seems strange to me can anyone explain or am I just going crazy

If your daughter is faster with ending the call, it might seem to you as if the iPhone was hanging up. No smartphone is smart enough to end a call when you say goodbye.

That's how it works. The one that's faster with hanging up, ends the call on both phones.

Well that's interesting. Our phone services have always been calling party disconnect. If I initiate the call and the other party hangs up first my phone will stay on. Is your daughter the calling party, Moparherb? If so, and she hangs up first that would certainly explain it.

That's different here. When I call my daughter and she hangs up, the call ends for me as well. It would be interesting to hear from Moparherb how it works on his phone.

My experience is the same.

No matter which party initiates the call in conversations on my iPhone the call ends for me when as well when the other party hangs up first.

Me too, doesn't matter what type of phone or service if the other end hangs up first mine disconnects and ends the call as well

Okay folks, now you got me wondering so I decided to try this out to verify. First I called our landline (yeah, we've still got one) [emoji16]. I answered the landline and waited a few seconds and hung it up. My iPhone stayed connected for a solid 10 seconds but then hung up. Then I repeated the trial by calling my wife's iPhone and did the same thing. This time my phone disconnected the moment that she hung hers up. So, I stand corrected so far as the cell phone to cell phone goes. But there's quite a delay when calling a landline. I do know for sure that it did used to be calling party disconnect, but maybe my age is showing. Sorry if I gave false info.
