My new iPhone 4 just shut down and I can't get it to come back on. The battery was at about 60% and it was just sitting on my desk. I came back in the room and it was black. I tried the off/on and the 'wake up' button and nothing.
I tried connection it to the charger and my PC won't even see it now. So I got the wall charger and plugged that into it and still nothing. I'm supposed to be leaving at 6 am on a vacation, but now I'll have to stop by the verizon office when it opens and see about getting a new phone.

Anyone have any suggestions or clues as to what happened? Is this common?

What a PITA......

I just reset the phone by holding both the on/off and the away button until the apple appeared. It reset and restarted the phone and everything is there. Is this the performance I have to look forward to with this phone? sheesh..

A reset as crusher described should get you back up and running.

I've seen a few stories like this on here but having iPhones for over 3 years have yet to experience it myself. Remember the iPhone is a computer at the end of the day. Sometimes all those billions of 1's and 0's get abit confused...
