Warner Bros. Interactive, DC, and developer Turbine have released a new free-to-play Batman game to the App Store, Batman: Arkham Underworld, where you actually get to play as the villains for once, instead of Batman.
Playing as the likes of The Riddler, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, and Scarecrow, you must build your ultimate hideout, recruiting and training up an army of henchmen who will help you take over Gotham City. Batman will be attempting to thwart your every move, of course, trying to disrupt your progress as hard as he can.
As you can see from the trailer, gameplay is a cross between Fallout-Shelter-style resource management, and top-down action adventure.
The game’s storyline is set before the first outing in the Arkham Trilogy, Arkham Asylum, and is the second Warner Bros. Batman: Arkham mobile game after NetherRealm’s Arkham City Lockdown from 2011, but the first to be made by Turbine.
