pop emails on 1 itunes account

Hey all,
Just got my wife an iphone 4s (now we both have one).
When setting up, neither of us had mobile me, and only 1 of us (me) had an itunes account...
Which is the ONLY apple ID I had.

So, I synced her phone, through my iTunes accounts.
Everything works fine except...

I can't sync her pop email account up (I have a pop email account as well).
Keeps popping up saying can't use SSR login, and asks if I want to try a non SSR.
Well, I don't, because I want her email to be secured.

So... What am I doing wrong?
Can we sync 2 pop emails to two separate phones thru iTunes?

If not, what's the best way to solve the problem?
I want to be able to share music and apps and such.
