Possible new iphone user

I am potentially coming over from the droid. One major thing I like about the droid is the GPS and the way there are turn by turn directions. My wife has the iphone 4 and there arent the turn by turn voice or whatever it is called. Is there an APP that I can use for the TBT directions if and when I go to the iphone? Are there any other issues with the iphone that I should know? Just any advice or anything that you want to pass along would be great. Thank you and this is my first post.

There is nothing on the iPhone that compares to the Android TBT directions. The only free app worth anything on iOS is by Map Quest. And it is adequate at best.
