Problem with iPhone or service provider?

Hello,

New to the forum. I've had my iPhone 4 (not 4S) for just about a year now and recently it's started randomly resending texts I sent to friends hours ago numerous times. It also has been dropping calls like crazy. Is there something wrong with my phone, or it my service? I haven't made any changes to the settings and it's running all of the current updates. Also-- if it matters-- I have Verizon as my carrier and live in Philly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

All I can think of right now is to reset the device by holding down the home button and power button for 20 seconds. If that doesn't fix it you might have to reset the device to factory settings.
