Pull down screen on iPhone 4s

Hi, I recently purchased an iPhone 4s and had a quick question. On safari I realized I could pull down a screen that
has weather and stock info. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to modify what is on this screen like if i wanted the news on it or something? (I tried googling and could not find an answer most likely because I don't know the term).

Its called the notification center
Go to Settings > Notification to set how you want everything. It shows missed calls, emails, etc.
if you jailbreak you can customize it and have a background picture and all
