Question on Notification Bar

Hello all. I am new to iphones, the 5 being my first and had a question. In my pull down notification bar it shows facebook birthdays, I wanted to know how to get rid of this. Thanks.

PS: Ive been in the settings in the facebook app and found nothing
Then went to settings, notifications and went to both calendar and facebook and tried to mess with stuff and nothing worked. Then clicked on the notification, went into calendars and unchecked birthdays and still nothing.

Go into Settings (on your iPhone), Notifications, then Facebook. Disable "Notification Center" in the menu @ the top.

Did not work. The only thing I have found that works is disabling notifications in calendar but then i am afraid i wont get my normal calendar notifications.. I think this is the case because when i drag down for notifications its under calendar not facebook

Settings-> Facebook then turn the calendar switch to off and pushing update contacts should fix the problem. Turning the contacts switch off takes the Facebook emails out as well.

Yes, forgot about this setting. Now that FB is integrated into iOS 6.....

I tried everything and this above. Still have them in my pull down Notification bar. Any other ideas?

Open your calendar> click calendars

There is a section titled Facebook. Uncheck the birthdays

Thanks but I figured it out. If you do what you say here it will not show in the calendar but still in the Pull down. You have to uncheck contacts and calendar.

It took mine off at first and the it popped back up. I like having my contacts synced would turning contacts off remove their profile pictures also?

No your contacts will still have the Facebook pics. And every once and while you can hit the update contacts button at the bottom of that same setting page
