Really important please help asap

So my iphone locked me out after i forgot my password
im trying to restore it since i have all my stuff backed up but
when i click restore it goes straight into downloading
a software update which itunes saids takes 19 hours ?
i really need help with this idk what to
do i just want to restore withouth having to update it
because it take 19 hours to update software ??????? does anyone
know what i can do ??
