so when a reminder goes off and the phone is set to vibrate, theres no vibration or sound.

is there anyway to fix this so theres a sound regardless? kind of like an alarm, which will sound regardless of vibrate setting or not

Alarms are the only events I am aware of that produce sound while the mute switch is set to on. There are no settings in iOS 5 or 6 to change that behavior. So basically you have to make an alarm to do what you want.

Sadly, Android handles this entire situation better with the ability to set 7 different sound levels (that I am aware of, they may have added more in 4.x) and the ability to run an App that even controls when to adjust those volumes so you can create very custom Do Not Disturbs.

Skull, op is asking about Reminders app and didn't mention the mute switch.
To answer ops question. Go to Settings > Notififcations > Reminders
There you will see this screen

Here you turn on sounds. You can choose your preference. Stock or custom as mine is

"The phone is set to vibrate" is the mute switch flipped to show orange based on all the young people I have listened to.

But I could be off base. I am old ;)

You could be right. Have to wait for the OP to chime in for clarification.
