I have an iPhone 4 which is jalbroken for more than 2 yrs now. During those 2 yrs I hardly used any of the many apps and I want to have the ios upgraded to the newest version (without jailbreaking again). But I don't want to lose my sms and Whatsapp messages, I want to have them back on my phone after the upgrade.
Is there a safe way to do this? And if so, does that apply to both sms and Whatsapp or is there a difference between the two?
I know that backing up to computer also includes sms, but I can't find out if it can be restored to newer ios and can't find much info concerning Whatsapp messages.
