The launch of the next generation iPhone is breathing down our necks, and apparently a very realistic video of the alleged next generation device has leaked online.
The video was released by the wireless parts company ETrade Supply and showcases a black aluminum unibody back plate that is very similar to what weve seen in some leaked pictures that appeared in May. The back plate in the video lacks a back glass and actually doesnt even look like a back plate at all. The phone is entirely encased in a black aluminum protective layer, similar to what you might normally see in the MacBook line.
In the video the new unibody is compared with the one that of the iPhone 4S. Apparently the purported model is a little bit longer, thus cementing the theory that the new handset will sport a bigger screen size. If Apple did indeed opt for the design we see in the video, it would be a regression to what the iPhone 3G/3GS looked like.
Apart from that, we can see that the holes for volume adjustment and power, and the dual-antennas, have remained in their current position. However the narrator of the video indicates that the SIM card tray in the new device is smaller than its iPhone 4S counterpart. Pictures of the tray leaked back in May support the theory that Apple is looking to adopt a new nano-SIM, (one that complies with the rules of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute).
