According to well-respected KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to release three iPhone models in 2017, writes iDownload Blog. In a note to investors, Kuo said that two of the iPhones would be upgraded versions of current models, with TFT-LCD screens, and one would have an OLED display and an all-new industrial design.
Kuo says that the 4.7-inch version will have a single-lens camera similar to that of the iPhone 7, and the 5.5-inch model will have dual cameras. The third model, which will be the most expensive variant, will have dual cameras on the back, an all-new glass casing, and a 5.5- or 5.8-inch diagonal OLED display.
As far as the premium model’s glass casing is concerned, Kuo says that it will be a glass-on-glass enclosure with accented stainless steel edges.
And with more than two thirds, or from 65% to 75%, of Apple’s 2017 iPhones set to have dual cameras, Kuo says that current iPhone 7 Plus dual-camera lens supplier Largan is set to benefit greatly.
“We view this increase as favouring Largan’s sales and profit momentum as it is the exclusive supplier of wide-angle and telephoto lens. It also bodes well for Apple’s dual camera software ecosystem,” said Kuo.
