AppleInsider reports today on new information about the next iPhone from highly credible Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. In a new research note issued to investors today, Kuo said that the forthcoming iPhone 6s will have a new rose-gold case option, although he didn’t specify if it would be actual rose gold, like the Apple Watch Edition, or simply gold-coloured.
Given that there is already a gold-coloured iPhone, it’s possible that the new rose gold phone is in fact a luxury version made of real gold, perhaps inspired by the success of the high-end gold Apple Watch Edition?
Kuo also said that the Plus version of the iPhone 6s may well use scratch-resistant sapphire covers, depending on the results of drop tests. The bending issues are also expected to be addressed in the new phones, and an extra microphone will be added close to the iPhone 6s speaker to improve the quality of sound recordings on the phone.
The camera will be upgraded to 12 megapixels, according to Kuo, who also backed up recent reports that the next iPhone will have Force Touch input technology.
Kuo also repeated his previous claim that there will be no new 4-inch iPhone, with the only sizes to be expected being 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch.
