The iPhone's default Contact icon is quite useful for phone numbers, addresses, and other personal info. Nevertheless, I don't understand the need for a "search app" to retrieve data that's right in front of you in the Contact's listings. Perhaps I don't understand what you're asking.

Searching Contacts is good for phone numbers but if I want to say, look for contacts in a particular city, e.g., Los Angeles, it does not bring up a list as it would in Outlook.
