The Black Hat cybersecurity conference is currently taking place in Las Vegas, and CNNMoney reports on the views of one of the speakers at the event who has been saying that in a strange way, the strength of iOS security might possibly lead to hackers being able to hack all your iOS apps at once. How can this be? you ask. Well, apparently, in order to sell the iPhone to the bigwigs in government, the military and Fortune 500 companies, Apple had to ensure that iOS was even more secure than previously, adding some particularly robust security features. Of course, this should be good news, but CNNMoney reports that according to one expert, what it could actually mean is that app developers become complacent about making sure that their own apps are secure, as the overall OS is so secure, that they do not bother building safeguards into their own apps, thinking that Apple’s security measures will do all the work for them. Jonathan Zdiarski, senior forensic scientist at viaForensics, warned of this possibility during a presentation at the conference on Thursday, saying, “Security is now an afterthought for many app developers. That means if you can hack one, you can hack them all.”

Apple, as usual, refused to comment.
