does your imessage need to be on for me to be able to see sharing my location? I had a issue were the person trying to find me could not because there iMessage was off. Do they need to have iMessage on be able to see my current location? Thx

If you're using iMessage to send your location, they have to have iMessage turned on on whichever device they're using. You can also share your location with your friends through the Find My Friends app.
