Content sharing has become the virus of our generation, but have you ever wondered which devices are used the most in that direction? Have you ever found an article online that caught your attention, or a picture that has touched your soul for a moment? What do you do? You immediately share it on one of your social media accounts. A new ShareThis study showcases that owners of iPhones are the most likely to engage in such a behavior on a daily basis. And most of them share via Facebook.
ShareThis is the company that came up with the sharing buttons users see on virtually every self-respecting website these days. The research found that people logged into their mobile devices are more likely to share content than their desktop counterparts. And, of course, most of the users on those mobile devices turned out to be iPhone users – 12.4% of them to be more precise. 7.4% of the remaining subjects included in the study are Android users and 6.3% BlackBerry users.
If you are wondering why the study didn’t have anything to say about the iPad, it did. According to the findings, 50% of all social content sharing on the Apple tablet is performed through Pinterest. How about old school computer users? Just 3.9% of PC owners share online found content with their peers, while as little as 5% of Mac users engage in social sharing.
The ShareThis study has bestowed on the iPhone the title of the “most social device” available on the market, and we can’t help but agree.
