The Showtime channel on Apple TV began rolling out earlier this morning with an arguably low $11 per month subscription fee. With the new Showtime subscription, folks will be able to enjoy network shows like Penny Dreadful and Masters of Sex.
The CBS owned network previously came to Apple TV last year with Showtime Anytime, however the channel required a cable subscription. iOS users shouldn't worry, as the network announced that a Showtime standalone app for the service would be coming soon.
Compared to HBO's $14.99 per month subscription, folks can probably subscribe to both channels, pay less than they currently do for a cable subscription, while getting a ton of content to enjoy.
Are we getting closer and closer to a cable-less future?
