Just got my 4s the other day from sprint and today I saw this message where the carrier name should be. (See attached pic)

What does this mean?

Sprint's "Extended" network... using a tower not owned, but leased by Sprint. You're not roaming though.

What if you see a circle instead of where the 3G is. What does that mean?

Circle means your on 1X data speed.

Meaning that there is no 3G available?
