Silent button not working with videos

So recently my phones been acting weird with the silent button. When I'm watching a video and switch the silent button the sound on the video doesn't mute. Anyone else having this issue??

I thought silent only apply to ringtone and alerts

It's true, the mute button only works on alerts and rings. It does not work on movies and videos you start to play.

The only solution to make them muted is to manually turn the volume down on the phone.
