Hi guys i was wondering if you could help me, ive had a white iphone 5 for quite a while now, but how its developed a fault to where the screen has stopped working due to no fault of my own. the problem i think i might have is im a builder and use my phone alot and there is quite a few little dents etc on my iphone housing.

ive got a appointment booked with apple to have the phone looked at the fault, do you think they are going to say the damage is too bad for the phone to be returned.

ive included some pictures for you.

the main damage is the bit on the top right all the others corners etc are all good. it happened when i get my keys and phone in my pocket which i will never do again.

thanks alot Martin..

You're going to have a hard time proving the damaged screen isn't your fault. There's plenty of scratches and dings on the phone from what appears to be from dropping it.

So like I said, your case will be a tough one to prove.

The only thing that would cover this kind of damage is AppleCare+, which covers up to two incidents of accidental damage. If you don't have AppleCare and Apple won't cover it under the standard warranty, you'll have to be prepared to pay a repair fee that's about half the cost of a new phone.

i wonder too what the outcome was,the OP's title say's "slight" damage,i think it's more than slight and i have doubts that the Apple store would replace it,i would like to suggest to the OP that he uses a case on his next phone to avoid such damage.

True that, especially if he works in the construction business
