Boy Genius Report writes that according to a new survey from Pew Research Center, there are now more smartphone owners than feature phone owners in the US. According to Pews figures, 46% of adults in the US have a smartphone at this point in time, an increase from 35% last May. Of those, 20% said that they owned an Android phone, representing a rise of 5% from last May, whereas 19% owned an iPhone, representing a rise of 9% up from 10%. The number of BlackBerry owners fell by 4% to 6%. [/FONT]

Nearly every major demographic groupmen and women, younger and middle-aged adults, urban and rural residents, the wealthy and the less well-offexperienced a notable uptick in smartphone penetration over the last year, and overall adoption levels are at 60% or more within several cohorts, such as college graduates, 18-35 year olds and those with an annual household income of $75,000 or more, said Pew, in what proved to be a very detailed report.
