I wonder if there is an application that let you change the ringtone for SMS from a certain person or to read automatically the SMS received from a person.
Iphone 4, IOS 4.0.2, no jailbreak

Unfortunately no... Apple is really picky on allowing changes to anything other than the ringtone or the preset mms tones. The thinking behind that is to minimize "user confusion" jailbreaking is an option if your really needing such a feature.
