Hey. Since I've been jailbreaking, I've been using devteam jailbreaks. I'm very familiar with redan0w and was hesitant to use greenpois0n, but did and liked it. Is sn0wbreeze any good? I like having bare minimum jailbreaks, and have always had jailbreaks which perform their actions on the phone itself. Explain.

Snowbreeze doesn't do its magic on the phone, it creates a custom .ipsw that then needs to be restored. It does require the phone be in pwned DFU mode, however the iREB program is included, so this step is done after the ipsw is created. At this point, iTunes can be launched, and the firmware loaded with the shift-click restore method. Just make sure your hosts file is clear of any gs.apple.com redirections or you will get an error.

All this having been said, it works wonderfully. The only thing it adds to the firmware beyond the exploit code is Cydia.

Hmm. Ok I was just wondering. I did this on a friends iPod before. I don't want anything besides Cydia. What about the size of the partition or whatever it is?

The root partition? It was around 980MB or so, IIRC.

Do I have to check the "animated boot logo" checkbox, or can I manually download animate in cydia?
