south korean i phone 4

Hi I am new to all this so please bear with me.
I have recently purchased an i phone 4 to discover that it has no sim and I cannot get any further than switching it on.It is a south korean model so getting the original carriers sim is not possible ,even if I knew who they were .
Is there any way to re set it for use in the uk or am i basically stuffed.So much for my bargain.!!!

How much did you get it for?
Because, ''JavaScript'' make remakes of the iPhone and sell them much cheaper, round 75pounds.
Did it come in an original ''Apple Box'' and did it include the manuals?
