
Don't give up hope on Spotify just yet. As the Swedish music streaming giant prepares for an initial public offering, CEO Daniel Ek announced on Twitter today that Spotify has hit forty million subscribers.
Back on June 20, Spotify announced that it has 30 million paid accounts and more than one hundred million users in total. Apple Music was able to acquire over ten million users within its first month, however the service does offer a three-month free trial, which Spotify does not.
