I've got everything set up on mac and can see home and root directory.
Am trying to recover from a ibook hd crash and am on a new imac, however it wants to erase everything on my iphone, and iphone has only version of many photos, itunes and apps.
So I want to bring these (photos, itunes, apps) over – i see root/private/var/root and it is licked, i don not have permissions.
Any suggestions for this situation?

PS: I just search an article and found an app said it can help me, I don't it I need to purchase it, this is page:
http://www.vibosoft.com/ios/transfer-songs-from-iphone-to-computer.html, please help me make some suggestion.

I've moved your post to the iPhone Help forum, where it will get more attention.

Click on Store on the top, then authorize this computer. Sign in with the same AppleID as the one that's on your phone while the phone is plugged in. Then sync. Even if it says it'll wipe everything, as long as you authorize this PC, nothing will be deleted
