Going to VZW to get the ip5

Thinking that I want to see what all the hype is about these iphones.... So what should I do?? I don't want to be disappointed.
I'm an android user and very happy with the Android OS and my device....options are endless. So, what do u all think?? Try it out or stick with the superior galaxy s3??

ive had 5 android phones so far on verizon (LG dare, 2x moto droid, 2x 1st gen droid x, and a razr maxx) OS from 2.2 to ICS, and i love the os, but im sick of the instability. i jumped ship to iOS with the 5, and im excited to actually have a phone that works 99% of the time.

just bear in mind that with verizon you cant talk and surf the web still with the iphones dynamic antenna system, which really sucks, but ill live. you can however do it on android since they have 2 antennea

Android is very stable. The newer versions in my opinion are getting better and better.
Like jelly bean is untouchable. The nexus 7 is seriously amazing.

I'm debating not getting the 5 for the droid razr hd maxx

I haven't really had any problems with stability. ICS has been good on my gs3 and am looking fwd to JB. I have not rooted/flashed.... Nothing. I have been happy with stock (for now). Idk what to do really.

I have had 3 android phones. I can tell you from my experience with IOS on my iPads (I've had 2) that Android cannot lick apples shoes.

With Android you're getting the wild wild west. Apple is everything is neat and organized. And it just plain works better.

I have a bionic right now. Tomorrow at around Noon (hopefully) I will be shutting it off as I transfer the number to my iPhone 5. And I like my Bionic it is a really great phone. But it can't touch an iPhone 5.

The problem with Android is too many people have got their hands on it. How many different companies are making Android phones. Now my Motorola Bionic is a good Android phone as were my other two Motorola Android phones. Still when you compare IOS to Android IMHO it just beats the pants of of Android.

I have nothing against Android, but I will say this: If it don't say Motorola, it ain't a Droid.

I was anti-Apple for a long time, I was a Treo turned Blackberry user. My son got an iPhone when they first came out with ATT, even left a mom and dad paid Verizon acct to get the iPhone. He tried forever to get me to switch. I then had enough years with Blackberry and tired of the daily battery pulls and went to Android and love the free-ness of it, but felt it lacked the business use I was looking for. I tried and iPhone4 and loved it. Just bc I'm a phone junkie I tried to go back to the Android. When the Incredible came out I got it and switched back to my iPhone. When the Bionic came out I got it and again switched back to my iPhone. I really do love Android but for some reason Apple (phone and tablet) just run so much smoother, so professional when I need it to be and my games and junk apps run and perform great too.

I will be waiting in line in a few hours at the local Verizon store for my iPhone5. When iPhone finally came out on Verizon my son dumped ATT (who he worked for) in a heart beat and went back to Verizon also, loves the service and reliability he gets with it.

Good luck!

There are considerations that alot of people don't think about. Such as how nice it is to have an iPhone when you travel. Many hotels use iphone compatible clock radios with charging docks. Also, many fitness centers use treadmills in which you can plug in your iphone and play your video charge. With Lightning, it may take a while to get back to this level of convenience though.

Also, if you like accessories, no phone on the planet can touch the iphone, No phone enjoys the level of selection when it comes to cases, docking stations, stands etc. You want a grill thermometer, glucose meter, camera lenses, radar detector, etc? You can find one.

Unfortunately, we're starting all over with the new connector, but the iPhone market is not divided up by many different handsets so it is the single largest market for accessory makers. That means we will always have the best selection.

You go into a shoe department store to try out and potentially buy a much needed pair of shoes. Nike just released a pair of Jordans that everyone declares the best and unruly to any competitors. Meanwhile new balance releases a multitude of shoes that offer various types of comfort. Message behind story is just because you might say one product is better than the other doesn't offer the same level of service to the next person. Being that everyone nowadays has to have a iphone doesn't mean that everyone wants one. Yes the iphone was a good device, but. To say it's the king of kings is wrong. So many androids are made to appeal to a much broader audience that just want the same looking device as the rest of the sheep. Btw any smart phone comes in handy while traveling it makes connections much easier. Have you ever had to use a rotary phone?

If you never owned a smart phone what do you think you should get? If you say Android, you are absolutely wrong.

Android mail is more difficult to deal with if you have anything but Gmail. Now it's not truly impossible to deal with but it's not as simple as going to an iPhone. And I'm saying that and I haven't even got my iPhone. IOS is built for ease of use. Android is more customizable, but because it has so many devs doing things independently certain apps can cause havoc on Android. I have one, Ring Guard. When I go to use 1 Password Ring Guard always comes on. If I push the button to stop the volume change it silences the phone.

It's much better to have everything in one group as opposed to every man for himself. Android is not a bad phone. It's a very good phone. But it's not an iPhone.

Does beat the hell out of Blackberry. :)

I think I've decided to go for it, I mean it is an iphone after all.... And the 5 at that, latest and greatest, right??!! After a lot of thinking and going back and forth this is what I've come up with....
Higher screen resolution not important.
Larger screen who cares.
Multitasking who cares.
Personalization not important.
Endless support and custom ROMs.... No biggie I can deal.
I could go on and on but it doesn't matter anymore bc I've decided to follow the crowd on this one and rock out the 5.
At least now I won't have to worry anymore about not fitting in and I can now flash that shiny apple on the back of my new 5 with one of those cases with the little hole cut out of the back just for that Apple (genius btw!!). I'll be back when I get this beast so you guys can teach me about the widgets and icons and I tunes and all that cool stuff. Thanks for helping me decide to go for the 5 you guys are awesome!! :D
