Tethered JB question

I was going to run with the tethered JB until an untethered one is found. Is there a way to be able to tether boot without an Internet connection? Like a program I can have on my laptop incase I ever need it.

Yes, redsn0w, the same program you would use to do a tethered boot anyway. All you need is redsn0w and an IPSW file.

I'll ask a stupid question now what's an IPSW file?

IPSW is the firmware file like 4.3.5

Hmm not sure what to do then. Guess I'll just wait for the untethered break to come out and not bother with the tethered version.

you can get the appropriate IPSW file here... Save the one for your device in a place where it can be found because redsn0w will need to know where it is.

You will need the IPSW for an untethered jailbreak too, so no reason not to go ahead and get it.
