Text message alert sound volume, HELP PLEASE! :(

Ok so I haven't had this iPhone 4 for long so I'm hoping this will be an easy fix.

My text message alert sounds seems too loud for me so I went into settings and put the sound all the way down. And when I get a text it's still loud but when someone calls I can barely hear it! So it's like the volume adjustment effects the ringtone but not the text alert sound. Can anyone help me on how to figure this out? I just want the text alert sound lowered.

Just use the volume keys at the side of the phone to adjust the volume for all your notification. Unless you are using extra profile apps or using customized ring tones with originally low volume, the volume level you set for SMS should be the same for ring tone.
