Text Message HELP

No issue until I went to ios 5 and I cant restore back to 4.3.5 either to fix


My texts show to the recipient as my apple id aka an email address


Settings > Messages > Receive At >

Under retrieve at

its only

apple id

you can be reached for messages at

email:
add another email..

the phone number isn't listed anywhere or caller id


Any other hints? Its an iphone 4 with ios 5. Trying to get my number back on it is what I'm looking for

UPDATE:

Go into your message settings. Turn iMessage off. then turn it back on, a pop up will appear wanting you to enter your iMessage password, click CANCEL. Do NOT log in. problem solved....
