Is there a way I can stop incoming text messages? My wife and I do not text but we do get an occaisional text message promoting something. This month we had a couple of bucks of these messages and while it will not bankrupt us it is annoying. I use IMessage a lot with my daughter but that's a freebie.
Thks,
Russ

im not really sure on how incoming text messages have cost you anything?

I don't know about other plans, but Verizon charges for texts sent and received.

Also, for the OP...not sure what carrier you have, but with Verizon you can go to your account online and block offenders if there are ones that send repeatedly.

My service is thru ATT so I called today and after going thru one of those obnoxious phone trees I finally got a real person. She was very nice and explained that my plan does charge $.20 per txt msg whether it is incoming or outgoing. The only way to avoid this w/o changing plans is to NOT open incoming texts. She was nice enough to refund my $1.00 - woohoo!
Thanks for the replies.

I am amazed AT&T doesn't have the same feature as VZW to block all text messages.

And I doubt you don't get charged if you don't open them. I would check your next bill to be sure about that after you get a few text messages.
